Wartburg
Speedway to be home of Southern Mod Lite series
For
the 2012 season, Wartburg Speedway will be the home to
the Southern Mod Lite Racing Series. On three weeks of
each month, the SMLRS will be part of the Wartburg Speedway
racing rotation. Mod lites are smaller scale racing machines
that look similar to the open wheel modifieds, but are
about half the size and are powered by motorcycle engines.
It is the most unique form of dirt track racing in the
area. Wartburg Speedway is proud to have the SMLRS for
2012. To learn more about the series, visit their web

The
2012 race season just around the corner
While
the 2011 race season just concluded at Wartburg Speedway,
plans are already in the works for the 2012 race season.
Owner Mike Kittrell is currently working on the race schedule
and rules for the upcoming season. Those will be posted
in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for those announcements.
Also, more improvements to the facilities are coming.
Thanks
for a great 2011 season
Mike
Kittrell and his entire staff want to thank everyone for
making the 2011 season a successful first season under
Kittrell's ownership. The goal was the give the racers
and fans in the area a place to race every week throughout
the race season. And that mission was accomplished. Things
are already gearing up for the 2012 season.
